WordPress SMTP verification error with gmail api
Hi,
Thanks for the great plugin.
I need support for the smtp verification process with gmail smtp. After setting up the client id and secret, after clicking allow it redirects to login, i give the correct credentials with the registered mail. but it shows the error as “This app is not verified, unsafe.
And after clicking the go to domain.dom(unsafe) it gives the error page with 406 Not acceptable error.

Could not create lockfile /tmp/.postman.lock
In my SMTP email log I’m seeing sporadic messages that read “Could not create lockfile /tmp/.postman.lock” and the associated emails are not being sent. I *do* get an email notification that reads:
You getting this message because an error detected while delivered your email.
You are welcome to post a support issue.
The log to paste with your support issue:
Could not create lockfile /tmp/.postman.lock
… but no other explanation.
What is causing this error and what can I do to eliminate it?

Integrating WP Mail SMTP with Newsletter
Hi,
I’ve successfully installed WP Mail SMTP (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/) on my site and have sent/received a test email using it. I am using GMail as per this method: https://wpforms.com/how-to-securely-send-wordpress-emails-using-gmail-smtp/
However, I cannot get this and Newsletter integrated. Here are my SMTP settings:

the username is my GMail address and the password is my GMail password. What is it I need to do to get Newsletter functional?
I should also say – Newsletter takes about 2 mins to refresh the smtp settings page when I test the email. Also, I get no errors printed to the screen. I just get a blank page which I then need to refresh to get to the settings page. I have WP set to use 128mb memory.

Using Both Gmail SMTP and Simple Calendar
I am running both Gmail SMTP and Simple Calendar. Sometimes when email using Gmail SMTP I get an exception from Simple Calendar. The exception mentions gmail, calendar and OAuth 2.0. It seems both uses this API. Simple Calendar is not bothered by the exception but Gmail SMTP is. How can I fix this? I want to use both.

Hi People,
Back in v 3.0 scheduled emails were introduced, and then disabled due to users have issues with it – I have lost track of what the conclusion was with this ‘feature’.
Is the code still in there and can be enabled or has it been removed entirely??
We have started to batch import shipment tracking data for our orders and our script also updates the status to complete – the downside of this of course the script hangs up while each email is processed and sent!!

Submission was referred to as spam error – reCaptcha issue
Hi,
I have Contact Form 7 installed on a subdomain. I’ve created a new reCaptcha settings (even with the lowest security possible and with or without the ‘Verify the origin of reCAPTCHA solutions checked) but each submission with the reCAPTCHA tag inserted fails with an orange border spam message. Remove it and the message is sent and received.
I have no blacklists on this site, neither do I have a cache in place yet and the Akismet plugin is removed. I’ve tried using SMTP (and testing the forms which send correctly via the SMTP plugin) and without but still no luck. ReCAPTCHA works fine on the same hosting for the main domain but not on the subdomain.
Please can you give me an idea of the possible cause, as removing the reCAPTCHA is not a long-term option.

Godaddy email issues (Connection Refused)
So, after spending an hour with GoDaddy support, I’m still at square one in resolving an email issue using godaddy email servers.
I have 3 WordPress web sites hosted on GoDaddy and you would think that it would be easy to configure the “Contact Us” page to send out an email notification of a new feedback message, but no…
I am not going to point to any specific plugin because I tried at least 4 that all come back with the same error:

According to the GoDaddy support people, I should be using the:
relay-hosting.secureserver.net
SMTP-host settings.
So, my question is simple; has anyone successfully sent an email through GoDaddy’s email servers from a WordPress site hosted on GoDaddy servers? All I am trying to do is send a simple “Contact Us” message, not a mass-marketing blast.

with the old versions we used to add a custom header via function.php.

… sometimes Mailpoet bring my server down..there is a couple time that this is not happening anymore, so be it like this forever after.

Works great every time. If your email forms don’t send, setup Mailgun and your problems are solved.

smtp connection errors/fail with gmail and outlook
many users are having this problem
I have found a solution that required some of my own coding
I have tried this plugin and many others, and they all fail when making the smtp connection to gmail or outlook, with both ssl and tsl connections
As of PHP 5.6 you will get a warning/error if the SSL certificate on the server is not properly configured.
Gmail and Outlook use self signed certs so when php checks against the local certificate authority bundle, the connection will fail
so in this case, the connection must be made bypassing the cert verification
Connection: opening to smtp.gmail.com:587, timeout=300, options=array ( ‘ssl’ => array ( ‘verify_peer’ => false, ‘verify_peer_name’ => false, ‘allow_self_signed’ => true, ),)
this allows the smtp connection to gmail
please add this option to your plugin, to avoid these common cert check errors. Many users are reporting this issue

Found that if newsletter was sent by SMTP server (Sparkpost), those blog context with the hyperlink on email were all failed to view on external browser once clicking on them. Just a error page was shown.
Strangely, everything was fine given I send by the webhost default mail server.
But I still want to send via the SMTP. Can comment and advise for the solution?

Use of “WP Mail SMTP”?
Hi!
I made an update of wpdiscuz (version 4.x to 5.0.5) and now, the subscription mail doesn´t use the “WP Mail SMTP”-plugin anymore.
Where is it possible to set the name of the email sender if I don´t like to use the name of the website.
Or is there any way to use WP Mail SMTP again?

Office 365 installation stopped Contact 7 Form working
I set Office 365 up and this due to DNS MX changes stopped my Contact 7 Form working. Tried to setup the WP Mail SMTP form up but get the following error. Help please.
